Finance Director – Strategic Finance Lead

📋 Description

• Direct the financial operations of Devsu, serving as a strategic partner to the leadership team.

• Manage the monthly closing process across various entities.

• Supervise the preparation of Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, and cash flow statements.

• Ensure adherence to Ecuadorian accounting, tax, and labor regulations (primary focus) as well as U.S. GAAP.

• Collaborate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors in both U.S. and Ecuador jurisdictions.

• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning efforts.

• Develop and maintain financial models to facilitate growth decisions.

• Provide insights regarding profitability by client/service line, cost structure, margin optimization, cash flow, and capital allocation.

• Assist leadership in strategic initiatives such as pricing, expansion, and efficiency improvements.

• Proactively identify risks and opportunities.

• Design and implement frameworks for cost control and financial discipline.

• Enhance financial processes, reporting clarity, and internal controls through automation and AI technologies.

• Aid in optimizing cross-border structures and tax efficiency in collaboration with advisors.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• 4 to 6+ years of experience in finance/accounting roles with increasing levels of responsibility.

• Strong understanding of Ecuadorian accounting and tax regulations (mandatory).

• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP (required).

• Experience managing financial operations in a multi-entity or international setting.

• Proven track record in financial planning, modeling, and analysis (FP&A).

• Strong business acumen—capability to link numbers to strategic decisions.

• Advanced skills in Excel and financial modeling.

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.

• A Master’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance, or an equivalent advanced degree is advantageous.

• Experience in company valuations (DCF, comparables, transaction support) is a plus.

• Background in software or tech services companies is beneficial.

• Prior experience supporting executive teams or founders directly is an asset.

• Familiarity with M&A, fundraising, or financial structuring is a plus.
