This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.
• Deliver technical assistance for FAA programs and systems such as FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, and WMSS.
• Install, repair, configure, test, and conduct preventative maintenance on networking and telecommunications devices at customer remote sites.
• Operate remotely in scheduled and on-call roles at customer locations within the designated area.
• Occasionally travel to remote sites beyond the assigned area to address FAA customer requirements.
• Interpret, comprehend, and adhere to equipment schematics and task orders.
• Record work completed and events occurring at customer sites.
• Coordinate via phone with the NOCC, SAC, and Helpdesk to resolve field-related issues.
• Manage tools, testing equipment, parts/electronics, truck stock inventory, and vehicles.
• Prepare for assigned tasks prior to dispatch.
• Work outside of regular hours as necessary.
• Lift items weighing up to 32 lbs. and utilize ladders and step stools to access heights of approximately 10 feet.
• Adhere to L3Harris and program-specific policies and procedures in collaboration with the supervisor.
• Must reside in the New Orleans metropolitan area.
• High School Diploma or equivalent, along with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a 2-year post-secondary/Associate's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Proficient in fiber, Carrier Ethernet, Multiplexes, DACS, routers/switches, network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET, ATM, private line, voice, and data applications.
• Familiar with RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449, BNC, and 50-pin Amphenol cable connectors and their replacements.
• Competent in AC and DC power testing.
• Knowledgeable about 24VDC and 48VDC power supplies, rectifiers, fuse panels, UPSs, and site grounding.
• Experienced in logging into network equipment and testing circuits with diverse test equipment and laptops.
• Understanding of Bell Core standards and analog, digital DSX1/T1, DSX3/T3, RS232/RS530, Carrier Ethernet RFC, and IP interface testing.
• Skilled in using Viavi 5800, JDSU HST3000, DataScout, Ameritech AM5XT, digital oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Anritsu Spectrum Analyzer, and other T1/DS3 testing equipment.
• Experience in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on backup generators.
• Proficient with Microsoft and the MS Office Suite.
• Ability to read and follow equipment schematics and task orders.
• Strong written and verbal communication, along with administrative documentation skills.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work scheduled, on-call, and after-hours assignments.
• Ability to lift up to 32 lbs. and utilize ladders/step stools to reach heights of approximately 10 feet.
• Must obtain and maintain DOT Public Trust Security Clearance and DOD Secret Clearance.
• Required to possess and maintain a valid driver's license and/or local US State REAL ID equivalent with a satisfactory driving record.
• Preferred: experience in Network Operation Control Centers, direct customer communication, Telco central office settings, and high-stress/high-visibility environments.
