This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.
• Perform field inspections, post-job assessments, and technical evaluations to support Owens Corning's warranty and workmanship initiatives.
• Assess the quality of roofing installations, workmanship, ventilation, and other site conditions that could affect roof performance.
• Accurately document inspection results in line with company standards and established protocols.
• Keep organized records and documentation related to field activities, inspections, and interactions with customers.
• Assist in escalated claims investigations by collecting field information and conducting inspections under the supervision of technical leadership.
• Adhere to established safety standards during all field operations, including roof access, ladder usage, and jobsite evaluations.
• Evaluate jobsite conditions to determine if inspections can be carried out safely and effectively.
• Represent Owens Corning professionally while engaging with contractors, homeowners, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• Offer technical assistance to contractors by addressing application and installation-related inquiries and aiding in the resolution of field issues.
• Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from customers and contractors in a solution-oriented manner.
• When necessary, escalate complex technical, product, quality, or application issues to the relevant subject matter experts.
• Collect contractor feedback, field observations, and market insights that contribute to ongoing improvements in products, processes, and services.
• Recognize recurring field issues and communicate trends that could influence product performance, customer experience, or training needs.
• Aid in the development and enhancement of technical guidance, field communications, documentation, and best practices.
• Conduct contractor training sessions, hands-on demonstrations, and field-based educational activities using established training materials and standards.
• Assist with onboarding, peer learning, and knowledge-sharing initiatives as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with Field Technical & Quality Assurance, Customer Solutions, Sales, and other internal teams to advance business objectives and ensure customer success.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be able to safely access steep-slope roofs and perform inspections and evaluations.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and transport ladders and inspection equipment.
• Valid U.S. passport and willingness to travel across the United States and Canada.
• Willingness to travel up to or more than 75% annually.
• Experience in conducting field inspections, technical evaluations, or preparing field documentation and reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced field environment.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven capability to build positive relationships with customers, contractors, and internal partners.
• Preferred: 10+ years of experience in the steep-slope roofing industry.
• Preferred: Direct experience with asphalt shingle installation, roofing applications, and industry best practices.
• Preferred: Technical degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technology, Building Sciences, or a related field.
• Preferred: Fluency in Spanish.
• Preferred: Experience with low-slope roofing systems, installation techniques, and detailing.
• Preferred: Experience in delivering technical training, contractor education, or hands-on demonstrations.
• Travel: Up to or exceeding 75%, including travel throughout the U.S. and Canada.
• Occasional weekend travel may be necessary.
