This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• The Field Service Engineer is tasked with performing on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of rotating equipment, including motors and generators.
• This position is vital for ensuring optimal equipment performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction while complying with safety and quality standards.
• Operating within a structured framework, the engineer undertakes both preventive and corrective maintenance, assists with commissioning activities, and provides technical expertise at customer locations.
• Implement preventive and corrective maintenance tasks according to company protocols and guidelines.
• Perform on-site inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to effectively resolve technical challenges.
• Execute dismantling, inspection, repair, and reassembly of motors and generators.
• Serve as the primary on-site liaison for customers during service operations.
• Offer technical guidance, training, and operational assistance to clients.
• Establish and maintain strong customer relationships through professional communication.
• Prepare job plans, material lists, and ensure the availability of necessary tools and spare parts.
• Assist in planning and executing outage schedules.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in field service engineering, ideally with rotating equipment (motors and generators).
• Practical experience in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of large electrical machines.
• In-depth knowledge of motors, generators, and their associated auxiliary systems.
• Competency in electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
• Experience with vibration analysis, alignment, and condition monitoring techniques.
• Familiarity with service management systems and digital reporting tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills and customer engagement abilities.
• Capacity to work independently in remote and challenging environments.
• Strong planning, organizational, and reporting skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively (90%+), including short-notice assignments.
• Ability to work offshore and on marine vessels for prolonged periods.
• Flexibility to operate across both domestic and international locations.
