Field Service Engineer – Molecular Diagnostics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Performing repair, maintenance, and qualification tasks on in vitro diagnostic equipment, which includes IQ, OQ, and PV procedures, ensuring compliance with GMP standards at customer locations, sometimes requiring short-notice deployment.

• Conducting inspections, installations, and commissioning of equipment at customer sites in accordance with applicable specifications.

• Offering technical support to customers through telephone assistance or remote maintenance services.

• Assisting the sales team by providing technical support in response to unusual sales-related inquiries.

• Traveling across Germany and, in exceptional circumstances, internationally.

• Providing support to the central internal repair department as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A completed apprenticeship as an electrical or medical devices technician, supplemented by experience in biotechnology and physical engineering, or an equivalent academic degree.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a comparable position.

• Practical experience with molecular diagnostic instruments within a laboratory environment is a considerable advantage.

• Capability to analyze equipment failures and develop solutions to address related customer challenges.

• Strong knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Lab IT infrastructure for effective instrument integration and remote connectivity.

• Familiarity with CRM service tools for reporting and task management purposes.

• Proficient computer skills across common operating systems.

• A customer-oriented approach, demonstrating flexibility and mobility.

• A communicative personality with a friendly and confident demeanor when interacting with customers, even in high-pressure situations.

• A structured, independent, and highly dependable working style.

• Proficiency in both German and English is essential.

• Willingness to travel at least 80% of the time.
