Field Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Cultivate a comprehensive technical knowledge of designated fastening products (under the DEWALT brand), their applications in construction, and their compliance with current building codes.

• Build relationships with key specifying engineering firms within the territory.

• Persuade designers, architects, and engineers to specify fasteners through regular visits, educational sessions, and technical communications.

• Conduct regular technical presentations and training seminars for design professionals concerning DEWALT products, emphasizing details, performance, characteristics, applications, and code requirements.

• Leverage technical expertise to enhance sales through specification and conversion alongside the local sales team, while providing technical support on job sites as necessary.

• Offer support on proprietary technical anchor design software to clients and relay customer feedback for future product enhancements.

• Assist local sales initiatives from a technical standpoint, including visits to job sites.

• Ensure that contractor-generated submittals receive approval from architects and engineers.

• Stay informed and knowledgeable about construction technology and emerging trends that impact the specified fasteners market, such as Building Information Modeling, Integrated Project Delivery, and construction software.

• Create and maintain client records using a CRM (customer relationship management) tool.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent credentials.

• At least 2 years of experience in design engineering, technical support, or a technical sales position.

• E.I.T / FE certification is required; a Professional Engineering (P.E.) license is preferred.

• Preferred experience in the Construction Industry / Jobsite settings.

• A valid driver’s license is required.
