This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.
• Deliver technical assistance to Laird Distributors and their clients as they integrate Laird’s EMI shielding, thermal interface materials, and structural/precision metal components into their designs.
• Aid in product selection by evaluating customer needs and suggesting suitable materials or components.
• Support design-in efforts by reviewing schematics, mechanical layouts, and thermal models to guarantee compatibility with Laird solutions.
• Conduct technical presentations and training sessions for Distributors, customers, and internal teams regarding Laird technologies and best practices in applications.
• Collaborate with engineering and product management to relay customer requirements, address field issues, and identify opportunities for product enhancements.
• Engage in testing and validation, utilizing Laird’s advanced modeling and simulation tools to assist customers in optimizing performance.
• Troubleshoot EMI, thermal, or wireless performance challenges in customer prototypes or production systems.
• Assist sales teams by providing technical justification, documentation, and competitive analysis throughout the sales cycle.
• Regularly participate in customer design review meetings, with or without the Distributor, offering technical design support for SBU solutions.
• Employ all product offerings to deliver insightful and detailed design solutions.
• Oversee prototype development, tool construction, and initial production runs to align with customer timelines.
• Create and release final production documentation, detailing critical dimensions and tolerances necessary for a functional part while considering manufacturing constraints.
• Lead and manage a product development design team composed of various engineering disciplines.
• Coordinate activities across departments to fulfill product development requirements.
• Set priorities and direction for multiple concurrent programs under development.
• Responsible for collaborating with Distribution Partners, OEM engineers, Manufacturer's Representatives, and Territory Sales Managers to implement Laird solutions for existing, qualifying new, and next-generation cost-reduction programs.
• Comply with quality and safety systems or uphold quality and safety standards.
• Exceptional time management abilities.
• Understanding of electronic component distributors, their requirements, and operational methods.
• Proficient in solid-modeling software, preferably Pro/Engineering.
• Knowledge of the Finite Element Analysis process, ideally with experience in analyzing boundary conditions and results.
• Demonstrated understanding of cross-functional relationships among inter-company groups and the expertise necessary to guide a product from development to production.
• Business proficiency in both French and English.
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a technical field.
• Preferred experience or knowledge in manufacturing processes.
• Several years of experience in sheet metal manufacturing and design.
• Several years of experience with thermal management and the implementation of thermal solutions.
