This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Conduct individualized tutoring sessions to support students with their coursework, assignments, and projects related to computer information systems.
• Facilitate small group study sessions to enhance collaborative learning and problem-solving skills.
• Exhibit a solid understanding of concepts in computer information systems, programming languages, software applications, and associated subjects.
• Keep abreast of course materials and communicate updates to students effectively.
• Develop and revise tutoring materials such as study guides, practice exercises, and reference documents.
• Suggest and assist in the creation of additional learning resources to foster student success.
• Offer constructive feedback to students on their work to aid in their understanding and performance improvement.
• Help assess students’ progress and adjust tutoring methods as necessary.
• Ensure regular and consistent availability for tutoring sessions.
• Collaborate with Student Services to efficiently schedule and promote tutoring sessions.
• Must be currently enrolled at California Institute of Applied Technology and eligible for Federal Work Study.
• Must maintain good academic standing, which includes a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and 80% attendance.
• Strong expertise in computer information systems, encompassing programming languages, database management, and related software and hardware.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capacity to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Patience and a genuine passion for assisting others in achieving academic success.
• Prior tutoring experience is advantageous.
