This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Educate parents and caregivers on how to navigate child-serving physical, behavioral, and social service systems.
• Inform parents and caregivers about community and informal resources available to them.
• Facilitate access for parents and caregivers to the resources that are available.
• Collaborate with the System of Care Coordinator in the designated counties.
• Support a comprehensive system of care for young individuals and families receiving child mental health and substance use services.
• Ensure that members receive integrated care that addresses physical health, behavioral health, and social determinants of health.
• Engage in planning, implementation, coordination, and training within the System of Care.
• Provide education and support regarding the rights and responsibilities of members and families.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care teams utilizing person-centered planning techniques.
• Assist with discovery activities, information gathering, and assessments.
• Help members or legally responsible individuals in making objective choices regarding service providers.
• Empower members and families to lead the planning process and develop their plans.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of four (4) years of experience as a primary caregiver for a child or youth receiving Medicaid or state-funded behavioral health services is essential.
• A valid driver’s license is a must.
• Candidates must reside in Anson, Montgomery, Moore, or Richmond County, North Carolina.
• Ability to travel within the catchment area as needed is required.
• Preferred: Two (2) years of paid experience working directly with individuals with behavioral health, mental health, or intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) conditions.
• Preferred: Relevant paid experience in the counties for which they are applying.
• Preferred: Certification as a Peer Support Specialist.
• Must successfully pass a drug screening as a condition of employment.
