This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Portfolio management: Tasked with generating revenue by qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, closing, and stewarding gifts exceeding $10M, while consistently meeting or surpassing established targets.
• Transformational Gift Strategy: Collaborate with internal teams to create, enhance, and implement strategies aimed at engaging individuals, families, and foundations capable of making transformational gifts ($10M+), ensuring alignment with the organization’s priorities and impact objectives.
• Consulting and Capacity Building: Offer strategic internal consulting to relationship managers throughout the organization—regardless of their title or department—who are engaged with transformational prospects.
• Executive Engagement: Work alongside the SVP of Transformational Giving, C-Suite executives, and clinical or operational leaders from the hospital on essential donor cultivation steps as necessary.
• High Value Volunteer Engagement: Assist in supporting advisory boards and councils. Organize meaningful engagement opportunities for both virtual and on-campus experiences that strengthen their connection to the mission and demonstrate impact.
• Narrative & Case Co-Creation: Collaborate cross-functionally to co-develop tailored proposals and transformational investment opportunities that align with the donor’s vision, values, and desired legacy—while advancing our mission in significant, measurable ways.
• Strategic Initiatives & Campaign Leadership: Play a vital role in the creation and execution of prominent philanthropic initiatives, including milestone institutional anniversaries, enterprise-wide campaigns, and research-focused funding priorities.
• Over 10 years of relevant work experience with a proven track record in closing and/or advising on philanthropic discussions involving 8- and 9-figure amounts, preferably in healthcare, higher education, or a complex mission-driven organization.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Natural coach and facilitator, capable of instilling confidence and skills in others while respecting their authentic leadership styles.
• Ability to comprehend and translate a diverse range of in-depth research initiatives and clinical care innovations into compelling, donor-centered opportunities.
• Comfortable operating in highly matrixed environments, influencing stakeholders without formal authority.
• Exceptional emotional intelligence and capacity to engage in high-trust, high-impact conversations with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Requires extensive travel, with a willingness and flexibility to travel nationally, including evenings and weekends.
