This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Assisting Mighty Earth in executing and defending its advocacy strategy concerning the EUDR at both the EU and Member State levels.
• Keeping track of political developments that pertain to the EUDR, EU nature policies, trade negotiations, and corporate sustainability regulations.
• Facilitating engagement with EU institutions, Member States, policymakers, and civil society organizations on matters related to forests, nature, climate, and agricultural supply chains.
• Collaborating with retailers and private sector stakeholders, particularly in Spain, to enhance corporate backing for deforestation-free supply chains, methane reduction, and the ambitious enforcement of the EUDR.
• Assisting in campaign efforts concerning forests, nature conservation, agricultural supply chains, and commodity-driven deforestation associated with soy, cattle, leather, and other forest-risk commodities.
• Aiding in the coordination of advocacy and communication initiatives linked to Mighty Earth’s EUDR strategy, including partnerships with NGOs, coalitions, journalists, and strategic stakeholders.
• Supporting the creation of campaign materials, policy briefings, reports, presentations, public communication content, and strategic analyses.
• Engaging with companies, investors, business coalitions, and other stakeholders focused on deforestation-free supply chains and sustainable agriculture.
• Overseeing and following up on subgrants and partnerships in Colombia, including regular communication with local partners and assistance with project implementation and reporting.
• Aiding in the crafting of strategic narratives and advocacy messages that resonate beyond the environmental sector, particularly regarding economic resilience, supply chain security, climate risks, and corporate accountability.
• Contributing to campaign coordination related to climate and methane emissions associated with livestock and agricultural supply chains.
• Participating in external meetings, coalition calls, conferences, and advocacy events related to forests, climate, agriculture, and EU environmental policy.
• Collaborating closely with Mighty Earth’s international campaign teams to enhance coordination between European and Latin American advocacy strategies.
• Strong knowledge of EU policy processes and advocacy concerning environmental, climate, agriculture, forest, nature, or trade matters.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in EU policy, advocacy campaigns, corporate accountability, sustainability, forests, nature conservation, or agricultural supply chains.
• Proven experience engaging with companies, retailers, policymakers, NGOs, journalists, and civil society organizations.
• Solid understanding of issues related to deforestation, agricultural commodities, climate, methane emissions, and corporate supply chains.
• Experience in coordinating projects, campaigns, or partnerships that involve multiple stakeholders and countries.
• Ability to manage relationships with partners and assist in the coordination of grants and collaborative initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to produce high-quality advocacy and communication materials.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse, international, and remote team environment.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory, while proficiency in French and Portuguese is considered a significant advantage.
• Existing knowledge of EU institutions and political processes related to environmental and agricultural policy is highly preferred.
• Primarily remote work
• Occasional travel for meetings, advocacy activities, conferences, or partner coordination may be necessary.
