This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Execute independent material quantity takeoffs for standard and moderately intricate infrastructure projects.
• Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and notes to accurately determine material requirements.
• Recognize specialty materials with some guidance.
• Create scopes and material lists for the sales teams and clients.
• Engage in pre-takeoff and post-takeoff discussions to facilitate knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with contractors and sales teams to clarify scope, project needs, and opportunities for value engineering.
• Liaise with vendors to gather product information, lead times, and material guidance.
• Coordinate with the Pre-Bid team to ensure precise scope definitions.
• Enhance plan-reading skills, takeoff precision, and knowledge of infrastructure products.
• Mentor Estimator I staff by addressing queries and reviewing straightforward takeoffs.
• 2–4 years of experience in estimation or a related industry background.
• Proven capability to conduct accurate takeoffs from plan sets.
• Experience interacting with contractors or vendors is preferred.
• An associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
• Developing technical expertise in infrastructure materials.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Effective communication with both internal and external partners.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
