Environment Artist – Lighting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Develops exceptional environment art with a significant focus on lighting, mood, and atmosphere.

• Constructs, refines, and optimizes lighting configurations that align with gameplay, narrative, and artistic vision.

• Works closely with art direction, level design, and technical art to ensure that lighting improves spatial clarity and performance.

• Creates and manages lighting passes, post-processing profiles, and environment shaders/materials as required.

• Diagnoses lighting problems related to performance, consistency, or technical limitations across various platforms.

• Aids in establishing visual benchmarks and contributes to best practices for lighting processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as an **Environment or Lighting Artist on a released AAA or high-quality game project.**

• Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in lighting, composition, and environment art principles.

• Proficient in modern game engines (**Unreal, Unity, or proprietary engines**).

• Comprehensive understanding of lighting theory, color, exposure, and real-time rendering.

• Experience with **PBR workflows and optimization** for real-time settings.

• Capability to collaborate across different disciplines and quickly iterate based on feedback.

• Familiarity with **lighting tools, profiling/debugging, or scripting for workflow automation.**
