Environment Artist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Develop high-quality environment art.

• Construct, refine, and optimize environments that align with gameplay, narrative, and artistic vision.

• Work closely with art direction, level design, and technical art to create efficient and visually captivating worlds.

• Possess a solid understanding of modular and kit-based strategies in environment art.

• Troubleshoot performance issues, consistency, or technical limitations across various platforms.

• Contribute to visual benchmarks and assist in establishing best practices for environment art workflows.

• Have a solid grasp of textures and materials and their optimal creation and application throughout an environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as an Environment Artist (5+ years) on a released AAA or high-quality game project.

• Robust portfolio showcasing environment art fundamentals and processes.

• Proficient in modern game engines (Unreal, Unity, or proprietary engines).

• Lighting expertise with a general understanding of lighting workflows (baking, performance considerations).

• Familiarity with PBR workflows and real-time environment optimization.

• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and quickly iterate based on feedback.

• Experience in profiling/debugging or scripting for workflow automation.

• Must possess appropriate working rights to live and work in Malaysia or Indonesia; sponsorship is not available.
