
English Learner (EL) Teacher / ESL Program Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Deliver both asynchronous and synchronous instruction in various formats including whole group, small group, and one-on-one settings.
• Oversee language proficiency assessments and state-required testing, ensuring adherence to established timelines.
• Create, monitor, and update Language Instruction Education Plans (LEPs) while maintaining the necessary documentation.
• Collaborate with students, parents/guardians, and general/special education teachers to facilitate academic achievement and create Personal Learning Plans.
• Assist in adapting curriculum and instructional methods to cater to the needs of multilingual learners.
• Employ supplemental programs and data tools to track student progress and inform instructional choices.
• Keep precise student records, including EL Data Views, testing data, attendance, and communication logs.
• Administer, analyze, and report on standardized test outcomes, modifying teaching strategies as required.
• Engage in school-based teams to identify and assist struggling learners.
• Maintain proactive communication with families and learning coaches to foster strong partnerships.
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania ESL Program Specialist Certificate (K–12).
• Certification in Mid-Level or Secondary English.
• Experience in virtual teaching environments.
• Background in teaching English Learners.
• In-depth knowledge of EL compliance protocols and federal/state regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual learning platforms.
• Strong organizational skills and effective time-management abilities.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Capability to work independently in a remote work environment.
• Willingness to travel for EL screenings, state testing, and school-related events (some overnight travel may be necessary).
• Availability to work occasional evening hours to assist students and families.
• Successful completion of all required background checks, including Child Abuse History Clearance.
• Support field trips, state testing, and other school events; participate in community and recruitment activities as required.
• Contribute to professional development initiatives and occasionally lead sessions focused on EL compliance or instructional strategies.
• Engage in professional learning, conferences, and workshops to remain updated on EL best practices and regulations.
