β’ Lead, manage, and expand two cross-functional teams (typically consisting of 2β3 engineers each) through one-on-one meetings, ongoing feedback, and structured performance management β encompassing hiring, addressing skill gaps, and fostering career development.
β’ Take ownership of delivery outcomes for both teams: collaborate with Product and Design from the discovery phase through to rollout, negotiate project scope, and make swift adjustments when challenges arise.
β’ Provide architectural direction across the entire stack, ensuring technical consistency between teams and that AI-assisted development does not lead to drift or escalating shortcuts.
β’ Mentor engineers at all levels on AI-native workflows β including agentic tooling, prompt engineering, and self-unblocking β and apply this expertise to accurately assess complexity and manage expectations.
β’ Monitor and relay team-level quality and velocity metrics throughout the management hierarchy, showcasing measurable improvements over time.
β’ Demonstrable experience in leading a software engineering team with direct responsibilities for people management β including hiring, performance assessment, and career advancement.
β’ A player-coach mentality: you are adept at coding and making architectural decisions, not solely focused on management.
β’ Proficiency in multiple mainstream programming languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, C/C++, Java, etc.
β’ Proven ability to collaborate closely with Product and Design β shaping the roadmap, clarifying specifications, and ensuring technical feasibility.
β’ Practical experience with AI-assisted development workflows (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, agentic coding) β along with the discernment to evaluate the quality of generated code.
β’ Background in measuring and enhancing team-level KPIs: defect rates, cycle times, regression rates, and delivery predictability.
β’ A strong inclination towards speed combined with unwavering standards regarding code quality, testing, and architectural integrity.
β’ Self-motivated individual who identifies necessary actions and takes initiative β you donβt wait for ideal conditions.
β’ Bonus qualifications include: experience with PHP Laminas or Laravel frameworks, MySQL schema design and query optimization, Angular and Ionic (cross-platform mobile), front-end testing tools such as Cypress, Jasmine, Karma, familiarity with AWS infrastructure, Cursor, Docker, Postman, and experience in field services, logistics, or waste management sectors.
