Engineering Manager, Frontend Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and nurture a team of 3-5 frontend engineers; conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance evaluations, and career development planning. Foster a high-performing, inclusive team culture that emphasizes craftsmanship, autonomy, and accountability.

• Strike a balance between technical depth and delivery management — empowering engineers to concentrate while ensuring consistent execution and results.

• Play an active role in hiring, onboarding, and mentoring to enhance Boulevard’s frontend engineering capabilities.

• Spearhead the design and implementation of our modular frontend architecture utilizing Module Federation and Micro Frontends to expedite delivery and manage complexity.

• Lead the transition of the Dashboard from Angular to React, while also overseeing our web-based hybrid mobile strategy (using CapacitorJS and shared webviews) to achieve complete cross-platform parity.

• Establish and maintain engineering standards for code quality, performance, and developer experience across our frontend landscape.

• Supervise the modernization of our toolchain (including React 19, TypeScript 5, Webpack, MUI 7, etc.), ensuring secure, scalable, and AI-ready codebases.

• Collaborate with Architecture and Design System teams to enhance our component library for mobile optimization and platform uniformity.

• Direct complex debugging and incident resolution for multi-frontend environments, driving systematic enhancements to prevent future occurrences.

• Work closely with Product, Design, and Backend leads to outline platform-level roadmaps and priorities that support mobile-first, modular experiences.

• Partner with mobile and backend platform colleagues to unify cross-platform architecture, ensuring performance, reliability, and code-sharing efficiency.

• Represent the frontend platform strategy to executive stakeholders, translating complex trade-offs into clear, outcome-driven narratives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in engineering management or hybrid tech-lead roles.

• Profound technical expertise in React, TypeScript, modern build systems (such as Webpack and Vite), and frontend architecture patterns (including Module Federation, Micro Frontends, and Monorepos).

• Demonstrated ability to guide teams through modernization — upgrading frameworks, isolating legacy systems, and enhancing developer velocity.

• Strong knowledge of web-based hybrid mobile methodologies (e.g., CapacitorJS, Ionic, WebViews) and responsive design for tablet and mobile devices.

• Proven track record in resolving complex system design challenges across multiple teams and applications.

• Exceptional communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Enthusiasm for mentoring engineers, cultivating culture, and scaling systems and teams concurrently.
