Energy Storage Engineer

📋 Description

• Assist in the design phase and engineer key components for large-scale energy storage initiatives.

• Identify discrepancies in engineering drawings, implement corrective measures, and strive for enhanced design quality and efficiency.

• Address errors in engineering analyses and propose future solutions.

• Develop technical scopes of work for contractual agreements.

• Support projects from inception to completion by collaborating with project managers.

• Guide project teams on engineering activities.

• Remain informed about project developments and technical challenges.

• Oversee project milestones and identify potential risks.

• Collaborate with suppliers to incorporate major equipment.

• Work with varied teams to enhance opportunities and integrate systems and controls.

• Grasp specifications for major equipment procurement and recommend solutions.

• Comprehend permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal obstacles, and suggest site design enhancements.

• Travel 25% of the time for project-specific duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Solar/PV Engineering and Construction.

• Proficient in one or more of the following areas: Power electronics, Battery storage system design, Substation design, Generation tie design.

• Knowledge of energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters.

• Familiarity with safety standards for lithium-ion battery storage (UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, and relevant IFC/IBC sections).

• Acquainted with IEC standards 61215, 61646, and 61730.
