Embedded Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain high-performance embedded software utilizing C++ for the QNX operating system.

• Participate in the complete software development lifecycle (SDLC) to deliver reliable features for Ford’s in-vehicle infotainment systems.

• Analyze and enhance system components to boost overall performance, security, and stability.

• Implement new software features and functionalities that significantly improve the Ford customer experience.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate system-level issues to guarantee high-quality software releases.

• Leverage Git for version control and manage complex code merges and versioning workflows.

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and business partners to present technical solutions and project status in a clear and concise manner.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional software development experience.

• Expert-level knowledge of C++.

• Proficient in Git for version control and collaborative development.

• Comprehensive understanding of the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to production maintenance.

• Preferred Qualifications:

• Direct experience in developing software for embedded QNX or Android platforms.

• Knowledge of Agile development processes and methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).

• Experience in system-level hardening and best practices for security in embedded environments.

• Proven experience in optimizing software for resource-constrained hardware to enhance boot times and UI responsiveness.
