This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Deliver designated course material in an online setting.
• Provide teaching, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning journey.
• Concentrate on individual student needs and track their progress using Stride K12’s learning management system.
• Collaborate closely with students and their parents/learning coaches to facilitate learning towards set objectives.
• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous educational experiences.
• Tailor learning and differentiate instruction according to student mastery levels.
• Enhance course content with approved synchronous and asynchronous tools.
• Keep the grade book updated and make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.
• Notify administrators about any concerns related to student performance and progress.
• Prepare students for critical standardized assessments.
• Build positive relationships with families and maintain communication with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues.
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school events.
• Must be a resident of Michigan.
• Michigan Teaching Certification is required.
• An elementary endorsement is mandatory.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• An active state teaching license is necessary.
• Capability to pass the required background check.
• Ability to work independently, generally exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Capacity to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during work hours.
• Experience working with the specified age group.
• Experience in assisting both adults and children with technology.
• Experience in teaching in online/virtual and/or traditional classroom settings.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms.
• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data for instructional decisions.
• Willingness to receive regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
• Flexibility to embrace change and adapt to ensure outstanding student outcomes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Capacity to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and proficiency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
