This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver designated course material in a virtual learning environment.
• Provide guidance, support, and instruction while overseeing the educational process.
• Address students’ unique requirements as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Engage with parents and relevant service personnel to synchronize suitable therapies.
• Create compliant IEPs, progress reports, and necessary special education documentation.
• Lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings.
• Offer accommodations and modifications utilizing assistive technology, supplementary curriculum, and accessible texts.
• Adapt Stride K12 lessons and assessments in line with IEP specifications.
• Ensure student inclusion and success within the general education setting.
• Gather data and work samples to track progress towards IEP objectives.
• Document interactions with parents and interventions for students.
• Analyze student data to recommend remediation and enrichment strategies.
• Deliver both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
• Maintain the grade book and uphold academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, notifying administrators of performance issues.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Build positive relationships with families and communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curriculum, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting concerns.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Valid State Special Education teaching license.
• At least six (6) months of student teaching experience.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• Residency in Indiana is mandatory.
• Out-of-state certification holders must secure Indiana reciprocity within 60 days of employment.
• Capacity to work independently, generally 40+ hours per week.
• Capability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during working hours.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% for in-person professional development, student assessments, and/or school obligations.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow educators and utilize student data to inform instructional choices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience with the targeted age group, online learning platforms, and/or teaching in virtual or traditional settings is preferred.
