Elementary School Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Facilitates student achievement by offering preventive services and addressing recognized needs through the implementation of a thorough school counseling program.

• Assists all students in planning for their postsecondary options.

• Implements strategies aimed at enhancing academic performance.

• Manages emotional well-being and utilizes interpersonal skills.

• Guides students and families towards readiness for college and careers.

• Conducts quarterly meetings with each student on the caseload to assess their graduation plans and postsecondary options.

• Provides classroom instruction grounded in standards for student success.

• Reviews academic transcripts and other pertinent documentation for both new and returning students.

• Collaborates with teaching staff to create a comprehensive four (4) year graduation plan.

• Examines student schedules to determine graduation candidacy according to school and state regulations.

• Evaluates student data and formulates data-driven programs for intervention strategies.

• Offers short-term counseling to students and makes referrals for long-term assistance.

• Supports the standardized testing program, parent education initiatives, and staff development efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.

• Minimum of three (3) years experience in counseling and/or advisement.

• Valid School Counselor License.

• Capability to pass the necessary background check.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, web-based search platforms, and database management systems.

• Availability for a flexible schedule.

• Willingness to travel as needed.
