This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Collaborate with ACMG leadership and the publisher to refine the journal's scope.
• Recruit and provide mentorship to an international Editorial Board.
• Supervise the peer review process with staff assistance.
• Make final decisions on publication.
• Commission various content types, including Special Issues.
• Actively promote the journal on a global scale at scientific conferences and through professional networks.
• Attract high-caliber international submissions.
• Engage with ACMG members and other stakeholders to enhance readership, authorship, and editorial involvement, particularly among early career researchers.
• Represent the journal at significant conferences.
• Track key performance indicators such as submissions, decisions, and citations.
• Advocate for open access, author experience, and accessibility.
• A strong scholarly background in translational genomics or a related discipline.
• Experience in peer-reviewed publishing, either as an author or editor.
• A collaborative leadership approach with the capacity to build and lead an international team of editors.
• Proven ability to articulate and implement a strategic vision for the growth and development of the journal.
• A commitment to scientific integrity, rigor, and inclusivity in publishing.
• Editorial experience with a biomedical or genetics journal is preferred.
• Active engagement on an international level (Europe, Australia, Asia) is preferred.
• Familiarity with open access publishing is preferred.
• ACMG membership or a willingness to join is preferred.
