This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Conduct regulatory gap analyses under supervision.
• Aid in strategic permit planning initiatives.
• Assist with the preparation of permit applications.
• Engage in multi-media environmental audits and assessments.
• Contribute to compliance support and reporting activities.
• Assist in agency negotiations under the mentorship of experienced staff.
• Acquire knowledge and contribute to practices aimed at reducing environmental liability and risk.
• Help develop tools and standards related to compliance and permitting.
• Demonstrate flexibility to adapt and carry out various additional tasks as required by evolving needs.
• 0-2 years of relevant work experience in compliance and permitting or a related field is necessary.
• A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience is required.
• Encouraged to obtain certification in the SMS Framework within the first six months of assuming this role.
• A background in supporting Phase I ESA Due Diligence projects is preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and basic computer skills is essential.
• Basic GIS skills are considered a plus.
• Experience in permitting and compliance is preferred, along with knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
