This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Offer consultation services to students throughout the dissertation process, as well as for master's and doctoral-level assignments.
• Ensure timely delivery of feedback, adhering to established deadlines and service standards.
• Maintain continuous communication with the leadership of the Writing Center to align with best practices and enhance student outcomes.
• Conduct workshops and writing boot camps, including the curation and delivery of relevant materials, virtually when necessary.
• Develop and curate content for dissertation support resources, including handouts, explanations, and tutorials.
• Provide copyediting services for the University’s research journal prior to its publication.
• Participate in Writing Center team meetings and engage in professional development activities.
• Assist with Writing Center projects, such as piloting new programs or creating advanced resources.
• Monitor and report on student progress and engagement to Writing Center leadership.
• Doctorate degree from an accredited institution.
• At least three years of professional proofreading or experience in a graduate-level writing center.
• Willingness to work on weekends and evenings as required.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong editing skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills to assist students in making meaningful improvements.
• Proven capability to teach, edit, and provide constructive feedback on APA-compliant scholarly documents, including dissertations, theses, and academic manuscripts.
• Proficient in using citation management tools (e.g., EndNote, Zotero, or Mendeley) and academic editing tools (e.g., Grammarly, MS Word Track Changes, and Google).
• Ability to engage and lead students towards success in workshop settings.
• Commitment to empowering students through actionable and supportive feedback.
• Expertise in quantitative research methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience in academic writing, including literature reviews, research proposals, and data-driven manuscripts.
• Experience in classroom teaching or instructional roles.
• Experience supporting ESL/EFL learners.
• Background in curriculum or workshop development.
