📋 Description

• Utilize scientific knowledge, economic value, managed care expertise, and market insights to build and maintain professional relationships while engaging proactively with PHDMs in key accounts, in alignment with medical and Market Access strategies. This includes discussing emerging data, identifying and addressing medically related access barriers in the patient's journey, understanding market dynamics in the territory, discussing pipeline developments, providing disease state and product education, handling unsolicited inquiries, and gathering PHDM-related insights throughout all phases of the product lifecycle.

• Exhibit a strategic vision at both National and Regional levels by identifying, mapping, and organizing PHDM engagement as well as Key Accounts in accordance with the medical launch strategy, which includes formulating and sustaining strategic medical plans for each National and Regional account.

• Recognize emerging PHDMs/influencers and relevant entities as the healthcare landscape evolves, and work collaboratively and compliantly with all field partners and internal teams.

• Collaborate regularly and effectively with internal teams (Market Access, HEOR, MSLs, RMLs, etc.) across various launch brands and new indications (Oncology, Cardiovascular, Renal, Immunology, Neuroscience) to pursue shared or aligned goals while ensuring a customer-centric approach and adhering to the One Novartis ethos in accordance with Novartis compliance standards.

• Provide thought leadership regarding product lead opportunities and represent the VEL perspective in assigned internal work streams.

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of assigned Novartis launch compounds and new indications to serve as a medical resource for both customers and internal colleagues, and represent Novartis at national clinical, value evidence, and managed markets congresses to support ongoing knowledge development within the US healthcare market.

• Meet agreed-upon individual and team objectives related to launch/prelaunch products, activities, and other VEL-related goals, utilizing key metrics/KPIs to identify best practices and drive continuous improvement in VEL.

• Stay well-informed regarding internal policies and external regulations, including the field medical Working Practice Document (WPD), travel policy, expense policy, state and local laws, and institutional policies, and understand their impact on daily responsibilities.

• Execute all administrative tasks and training (e.g., Veeva CRM, voicemail, email, expense reports, compliance modules, etc.) promptly, including profiling core customers and ensuring that the information in the CRM is current.

• Take the lead on emerging responsibilities as strategic priorities evolve, actively pursue personal and professional development, and conduct oneself with the highest ethical standards in compliance with the Novartis Code of Conduct, relevant laws and regulations, and Novartis Ethics, Risk & Compliance policies and procedures.


⛳️ Requirements

• A graduate degree in science or healthcare is required.

• A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Managed Care/PHDM-focused Medical Liaison is preferred.

• A robust understanding of the US healthcare system (especially managed care/patient access), payers, pathways, SOCs/IDNs, health economics, outcomes research, and emerging trends related to patient access, value-based care, quality measures, and pay for performance, as well as knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, PhRMA Code, and other applicable regulations/ethical guidelines in the pharmaceutical industry is required.

• A proven track record of organizational or enterprise impact through strategic thinking, experience working within a matrix organization, and leading collaborative teams in a Field Medical-based role is essential.

• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are required.

• A strategic mindset with the ability to navigate a complex healthcare landscape, identifying, networking, and partnering with medical experts, including PHDMs, thought leaders, large group practices, medical directors, and pharmacy directors, is required.

• Capability to create a strategic vision by integrating diverse perspectives, scientific considerations, and market knowledge to achieve best-in-class outcomes.

• Proven creativity and effectiveness in tackling strategic challenges.

• An innovative and adaptable thinker who can respond swiftly to changing market dynamics, business needs, and an evolving product portfolio.

• Must possess strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and work effectively within a constantly changing environment.
