This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage both international and domestic M&A transactions, which involves conducting tax due diligence and offering tax structuring services.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to each Leo Berwick client and partnership.
• Deliver prompt and high-quality tax advice, consistently striving to surpass client expectations.
• Review and draft tax opinion memoranda, addressing intricate technical matters such as Subchapter C/K, inbound/outbound, and cross-border issues.
• Collaborate with senior leadership (Partners, Managing Directors) on business development efforts, identifying opportunities, spearheading proposals, and nurturing client relationships.
• Analyze and support clients in both the quantitative and qualitative assessment of tax data in their financial projections for transactions.
• Examine tax components of merger agreements and legal documents; provide tax opinion memorandums.
• Guide, develop, inspire, and train Vice Presidents and Senior Associates.
• JD or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax Law, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in tax due diligence, deal structuring, and post-merger integration at a Big 4 firm, corporate tax department, or major law firm.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and executing projects, with a focus on budget management.
• Proficient in conveying complex tax concepts to clients in a clear and concise manner.
• Proven history of leading teams and projects, managing budgets, and delivering outcomes within tight deadlines.
• Strong communication abilities – capable of articulating complex tax issues effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
• Exceptional writing, research, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Keen attention to detail; excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• A proactive mindset; comfortable working with some ambiguity in fast-paced deal environments.
