
Director, Thought Leadership and Content Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and spearhead a comprehensive thought leadership strategy that aligns with business priorities, brand positioning, and market opportunities.
• Identify key themes, narratives, and unique perspectives (POV) that set ImpactAssets and ImpactAssets Capital Partners apart and enhance our leadership within the category.
• Create frameworks for delivering consistent, high-quality executive thought leadership across various channels.
• Set up content governance procedures, collaborating with Marketing colleagues, Investment teams, Business Development, and Client Engagement to ensure coherence on thought leadership themes, the content calendar, and a roadmap that aligns with and evolves alongside the multi-year business strategy.
• Establish editorial standards, governance, and processes that uphold a consistent brand voice and tone across all platforms and content types.
• Utilize subject matter expert (SME) insights, translating technical knowledge into high-quality content such as whitepapers, reports, articles, videos, podcasts, and research-driven narratives suitable for our website, social media, newsletters, and integrated marketing campaigns.
• Oversee external agencies, writers, analysts, and research partners as required.
• Conduct content audits to identify gaps and manage content lifecycles with a focus on the business and personal cycles relevant to our target segments.
• Perform audience research to gain insights into what resonates, influences, and drives engagement.
• Stay informed about industry trends, competitive narratives, and emerging discussions to guide content strategy, utilizing data to refine messaging, optimize distribution, and measure impact.
• Collaborate closely with senior executives to shape their voice, refine their POV, and transform their expertise into impactful content.
• Ghostwrite or collaborate with contractors to produce keynote speeches, op-eds, LinkedIn posts, bylines, and long-form essays.
• Prepare executives for media appearances, events, and industry discussions with messaging, briefs, and narrative guidance.
• Undertake additional responsibilities in line with the role's scope.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in content strategy, thought leadership, editorial, executive communications, or product marketing, preferably within institutional asset management, along with a bachelor’s degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven history of creating content that effectively communicates complex business topics to high-value, discerning audiences, including UHNWIs, family offices, foundations, corporates, and their influencers.
• Established track record of collaborating directly with C-suite executives and prominent principals.
• Outstanding writing and storytelling abilities; capable of transforming complexity into clarity and insight.
• An advanced business or financial degree is an advantage.
• A portfolio showcasing thought leadership work (articles, speeches, reports, frameworks, etc.).
• Extensive knowledge of private markets, alternative asset classes, and impact investing, with the capability to adapt messaging to specific audiences based on context and channel.
• Strong understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and the expertise to design content that enhances SEO (Search Engine Optimization), AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization).
• Demonstrated ability to manage external writers, contractors, and content vendors alongside senior internal stakeholders, with robust vendor management and contracting experience.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to operationalize a content strategy and execute it across multiple workstreams simultaneously.
• Strong vendor management capabilities.
• Advanced problem-solving skills, combined with cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and the capability to identify and implement process enhancements.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize competing demands effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams is required.
• Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration tools like Box and Asana is preferred.
• Experience in a virtual work environment is preferred.
