• Define and execute the engineering strategy and roadmap for your domain, ensuring it aligns with business goals.
• Collaborate closely with product teams, architecture, and executive leadership to co-develop strategies and transform them into actionable execution plans.
• Build, motivate, and expand high-performing teams; promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Create strong operational frameworks for consistent, high-quality delivery across complex, distributed systems.
• Make investment decisions, prioritize resources, and maintain the technical integrity and reliability of systems for the long term.
• Mentor engineering leaders, develop talent, and advocate for diversity and inclusion throughout the organization.
• Over 15 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in senior engineering leadership roles (Director level or higher).
• Profound knowledge of the software development life cycle, system design, distributed systems, and system reliability.
• Proven ability to lead the strategy and execution for large-scale, complex engineering organizations.
• Demonstrated success in building and scaling high-performing teams and establishing effective operational processes.
• Strong technical judgment and the ability to make portfolio-level trade-offs and prioritize investments.
• Exceptional communication skills, influential capabilities, and the ability to partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including executive leadership.
• A history of promoting engineering excellence and advocating for best practices in system design, development, and operations.
• Experience in fast-growing technology companies, cloud platforms, or SaaS environments (preferred).
• Background in designing large-scale, distributed systems and high-reliability platforms (preferred).
• Experience working with geographically dispersed teams and managing during significant scale or transformation (preferred).
• Technical or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Familiarity with Agile or Lean methodologies in product development (preferred).
• Proven experience in managing organizational change and fostering a positive culture (preferred).
• Success in navigating uncertainty and achieving impactful results in dynamic environments (preferred).
• Industry certifications or ongoing education in engineering management or leadership (preferred).
