Director, SEO – AEO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Assume responsibility and ownership of the Houzz SEO and AEO strategy across all regions (14 sites in total)

• Execute a white hat AEO/GEO strategy that encompasses content marketing, reputation management, digital PR, and PMM

• Oversee an offsite SEO strategy that establishes Houzz as a premier SaaS product, collaborating closely with the global PR team

• Serve as the SEO product manager and implement customer-facing changes across both B2B and Consumer verticals; take ownership of all project phases

• Manage SEO engineering sprints, collaborating with other Product Managers to spearhead SEO/AEO-driven initiatives on various page types

• Identify potential SEO opportunities in site architecture, on-page optimization, and keyword tracking

• Conduct keyword research and analyze competitors

• Monitor and report on rankings, traffic, and conversion performance while proactively communicating with leadership

• Write or edit existing content to enhance SEO/AEO performance

• Continuously deepen your knowledge of SEO/AEO and provide mentorship to the team

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of in-house SEO experience, with over 5 years in team leadership roles

• At least 5 years of experience in SEO Product Management collaborating with engineers in an agile environment

• A minimum of 5 years of SEO experience on a large site with millions of URLs

• At least 5 years of experience in B2B SaaS or Content Marketing SEO

• Proven ability to create SEO performance forecasts

• Extensive knowledge of SEO best practices: you should know how to optimize a page and understand the factors that contribute to a page's ranking, including on-page and off-page signals

• Experience collaborating with C-Level leadership

• Capability to write/edit user-focused SEO content and articles

• Strong analytical skills

• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
