This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulate and implement the quality and regulatory strategy, establish departmental objectives, and oversee the budget and expenses of the department.
• Guide, mentor, and nurture the quality assurance and regulatory affairs team while promoting a culture centered on quality.
• Present quality and compliance performance metrics to executive leadership and collaborate cross-functionally with product development, marketing, legal, and customer experience teams.
• Create, execute, and sustain the Quality Management System (QMS), which includes quality policies, procedures, and document control mechanisms.
• Ensure continuous compliance with all applicable quality standards.
• Define product quality benchmarks, acceptance criteria, and requirements for reliability and durability testing.
• Set audit standards for suppliers and contract manufacturers, managing quality for incoming materials, in-process goods, and finished products.
• Guarantee adherence to domestic and international regulatory standards for both wet and hard goods.
• Maintain regulatory files and technical documentation, coordinate submissions, and keep abreast of regulatory changes.
• Lead product safety initiatives and oversee safety certifications and third-party testing.
• Investigate product safety complaints and engage in recall planning when necessary.
• Establish supplier quality expectations, qualify and approve suppliers, and conduct supplier audits and performance assessments.
• Define incoming inspection criteria and address supplier quality challenges.
• Engage in product development planning, review specifications, and ensure quality is integrated into new products.
• Assess product testing, approve production readiness, and assist with product launches.
• Identify quality risks, perform risk assessments, and formulate mitigation strategies.
• Analyze customer complaints and warranty concerns, devise corrective action plans, and track customer quality metrics.
• Maintain department records and ensure compliance with retention policies.
• Educate relevant departments on regulatory standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, regulatory affairs, or a related business discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in product quality and/or regulatory affairs within a consumer products brand.
• Proven track record in developing QMS, managing product safety programs, and ensuring domestic/international regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and developing quality assurance and/or regulatory affairs professionals.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Capability to report quality and compliance performance to executive leadership and effectively translate complex regulatory requirements into understandable guidance.
• Recent experience with consumer products, including establishing quality standards, managing product validation, and overseeing reliability and durability testing.
• Experience working with a global supplier network, defining supplier quality requirements, conducting supplier audits, evaluating performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience in managing departmental budgets and operational costs.
