Director, Product & Software Engineering – Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develops and implements a cloud engineering strategy that aligns with the overarching cloud and SaaS product objectives, ensuring seamless integration with the company's technology roadmap and business aims.

• Applies Infrastructure-As-Code (IaC), DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines to automate and enhance cloud operations and software delivery processes.

• Establishes product performance metrics, proactive optimization strategies, and sets up observability and KPIs for continuous enhancement.

• Collaborates on operational practices for managing cloud costs and forecasting, oversees departmental budgets, and optimizes resource allocation, including the management of third-party vendors and outsourced engineering tasks.

• Guides and develops engineering teams, manages multiple simultaneous projects, and oversees talent management processes such as recruitment, coaching, performance assessments, and succession planning.

• Works in partnership with product, architecture, engineering, and cross-functional teams to integrate cloud solutions into SaaS offerings, ensuring alignment with both business and technical goals.

• Advocates for innovation and the adoption of emerging technologies, methodologies, and best practices in cloud software development, including rigorous testing and quality assurance for dependable, scalable solutions.

• Oversees cloud-based software engineering throughout the entire development lifecycle, including comprehensive release management to guarantee the efficient and reliable delivery of cloud products.

• Establishes and enforces policies, procedures, and standards for producing high-quality software products, encompassing disaster recovery, backup, and data protection protocols.

⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of cloud security, data architecture, compliance frameworks (such as GDPR and SOC 2), and observability tools (including Prometheus and Grafana).

• Proven leadership and strategic planning abilities for enterprise-scale cloud operations, with a track record of mentoring engineering teams and effectively communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Advanced proficiency in software development methodologies (including Agile and DevOps), programming languages (such as Java, NodeJS, Python, Angular, and React), along with expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform and CloudFormation) and CI/CD automation.

• Strong understanding of AWS serverless services (e.g., Lambda, Redshift, API Gateway, and DynamoDB) and AI technologies (e.g., Bedrock and Claude).

• Familiarity with multi-cloud strategies and hybrid cloud architectures.

• Over 8 years of progressively responsible experience in software engineering.

• At least 5 years in leadership positions.

• Proven success in SaaS or product-driven environments.

• Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD, DevOps, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Track record of spearheading modernization initiatives across both legacy and cloud environments, including the integration of AI/ML technologies.

• Experience in implementing cloud strategies for scalable SaaS solutions.

• Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization tools (such as CloudHealth and AWS Cost Explorer).
