Director, Product Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of delivery across 3 to 5 product squads, which include Workforce Intelligence, Strategic Workforce Planning, Job & Skills Architecture, Organizational Design, and Synappy.

• Establish standards for engineering excellence encompassing architecture, code quality, testing, observability, on-call practices, and developer experience.

• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Design, and Data Science to transform customer challenges into deployable solutions.

• Manage the architectural roadmap for our SaaS platform and Data-as-a-Service offerings.

• Advocate for contemporary practices such as CI/CD, AI-assisted development, automated testing, SLO-driven operations, and practical DevSecOps.

• Serve as the Engineering representative in cross-functional planning, executive reviews, and customer discussions.

• Convert technical risks and opportunities into business language for the executive team and board members.

• Collaborate with Security, Legal, and Trust & Governance to uphold an enterprise-grade compliance posture.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in software engineering.

• Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams of 25 or more engineers.

• Proven track record of scaling a B2B SaaS or data-intensive product.

• In-depth technical expertise in modern microservices architectures and cloud-native engineering on AWS.

• Strong proficiency in Java/Spring, Python, Node.js, and relational databases (Postgres/MySQL/Aurora), along with AWS services.

• History of effective collaboration with Product Management and Design teams.

• Experience leading distributed teams across various time zones.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Direct experience in delivering production GenAI / LLM-powered features (highly preferred).

• Familiarity with large-scale data ingestion, ETL/ELT, and analytics platforms (highly preferred).

• Previous experience in HR Tech, workforce planning, talent intelligence, or labor market analytics (highly preferred).

• Experience operating in a private-equity-backed growth environment (highly preferred).
