This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• In this senior leadership position, you will report directly to the CISO and oversee the security engineering for Sysdig throughout the entire code-to-cloud lifecycle. You will lead a small, high-impact team comprised of senior and staff security engineers, determining the team’s technical direction and fostering growth through hiring and the development of senior talent. Moreover, you will be responsible for the security-engineering roadmap, standards, and budget.
• Collaborate with the CISO and senior leadership to establish functional strategies. You will translate the security strategy into actionable plans and policies, communicate it throughout the organization, and serve as the final authority on security-engineering standards, tools, and practices.
• Embrace an AI-first approach to security delivery. Leverage AI to enhance security capabilities that assist engineering teams in building superior systems and writing more effective code.
• Ensure safety in AI-assisted and agent-driven development across the organization. Utilize AI agents to scale security operations and safeguard the AI agents and workloads in production, treating them as primary attack surfaces — tackling issues where the challenges are not well-defined and established principles may not be applicable.
• Collaborate closely with product teams. Go beyond simply providing feedback; offer insightful, hands-on guidance for the roadmap, utilizing new capabilities internally before assisting in the maturation of our core cloud defense platform and new AI workload protection. You will be a genuine product partner, rather than just an internal user.
• Act as a representative for security with executives and customers. Engage senior leadership and key clients on significant security issues, reconcile differing stakeholder perspectives to drive results, and play a vital role within the Trust & Security function.
• Transform compliance into assurance. We uphold standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and SOC 2 Type II — these represent our baseline. Your goal will be to ensure continuous assurance of controls that not only satisfy auditor requirements but, more importantly, safeguard customer trust.
• Exemplify leadership. Advocate for Sysdig's values — Trust in the Team, Love our Customers, Dig Deeper — and act as a change agent who cultivates a culture of trust, ownership, and ongoing improvement.
• A minimum of 7 years in security or software engineering, with at least 4 years in a leadership role where you developed engineers. You have taken ownership of a team’s roadmap, outcomes, and budget, and you are capable of providing clear direction.
• Proven experience in establishing deep partnerships with engineering teams.
• Familiarity with utilizing AI and agentic tools to deliver security capabilities and assist engineers in their development efforts.
• An innate instinct for product partnership, along with the credibility to engage with executives and customers on critical security issues.
• Strong technical expertise in cloud and Kubernetes security, infrastructure-as-code, and modern CI/CD practices.
• A perspective on compliance (ISO 27001, ISO 27701, SOC 2 Type II) as a continuous assurance process to automate.

• 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan featuring a 3% company match
• Maternity and Parental Leave
• Mental health support available for you and your family via the Modern Health app
