Director of Engineering, Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain scalable, dependable data pipelines and infrastructure.

• Collaborate with insights, product management, and product engineering teams to enhance reporting dashboards, analytics features, and data-driven customer experiences.

• Create frameworks for data integrity, lineage, compliance, governance, and quality.

• Ensure data protection, access controls, and adherence to regulatory and HIPAA requirements.

• Lay the groundwork and standards necessary for machine learning and AI capabilities.

• Design and refine systems for real-time and batch data processing.

• Facilitate smooth data flow between systems and external partners using integrations and APIs.

• Define and implement Boulevard's long-term technical strategy for the data platform.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data platform engineers.

• Influence architectural decisions for scalable data systems.

• Establish monitoring, alerting, and operational practices to ensure high availability and performance.

• Align the data platform roadmap with business objectives and technical strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in data platform engineering, distributed systems, or infrastructure engineering.

• Extensive expertise in constructing scalable data processing systems.

• More than 5 years of experience in people management, including overseeing senior engineers and technical leads.

• Demonstrated success in developing data platforms and machine learning systems that support internal analytics and customer-facing data products.

• Experience in delivering customer-facing reporting, dashboards, and analytics features in collaboration with Product teams.

• Strong proficiency with modern data stack technologies such as dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, and Kafka.

• Comprehensive understanding of data governance, quality frameworks, and best practices in security.

• Strategic capability to convert business objectives into technical roadmaps.
