Director of Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +28 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and continuously enhance the software development lifecycle from planning to release and subsequent operations.

• Ensure predictable, high-quality delivery by implementing engineering standards, refining delivery processes, and achieving operational excellence.

• Track and enhance engineering effectiveness metrics, including DORA and delivery performance indicators.

• Collaborate with Product and Design leaders to synchronize planning, prioritization, and execution across teams.

• Create and uphold engineering operating standards, collaboration agreements, and delivery best practices.

• Guarantee that code quality, documentation, and development processes facilitate long-term scalability and reliability.

• Spearhead the implementation, adoption, and governance of AI-driven engineering tools and workflows.

• Oversee engineering tooling, vendor partnerships, and departmental budgets.

• Convey engineering performance, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership and stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8-12 years of progressive experience in software engineering, including at least 4 years in engineering leadership roles.

• Proven track record in leading engineering operations, software delivery, and improvements in the development lifecycle at scale.

• Experience in managing engineering managers, technical leads, or high-performing engineering teams.

• Strong comprehension of cloud-native software environments, contemporary development practices, and engineering delivery metrics.

• Experience in setting engineering standards, operational processes, and performance frameworks.

• Familiarity with security, compliance, and risk management considerations within SaaS environments.

• Experience in managing budgets, vendor relationships, and technology investments.

• Exceptional cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management abilities.

• Proficiency in English is required.
