This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Accountable for effective management of AML and Fraud risk through the proficient handling of data, metrics, and reporting.
• Ensuring Santander provides an exceptional customer experience while adhering to compliance and operational risk standards.
• Actively contribute to and lead a team of professionals dedicated to delivering timely and high-quality data management and reporting.
• Examine various types of transactions, account details, customer information, and forensic data from control providers to assess trends, clarify losses, and assist in resolving issues.
• Create reporting and analytics while employing critical thinking to bolster financial crime risk management initiatives.
• Propose, develop, and execute analytical capabilities essential for effective risk monitoring and management.
• Establish procedures to efficiently manage controls and deliverables with quality documentation for audit and regulatory assessments.
• Cultivate relationships with internal and external business partners and industry peers to promote information-sharing opportunities and identify best practices.
• Identify and suggest enhancements and adjustments in product management and business unit controls leveraging both analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Develop analytical programs and user tools to support business unit analytics and performance monitoring metrics, including key risk and performance indicator dashboards.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
• Over 9 years of experience in Risk Management/Controls, preferably in AML and Fraud.
• Strong understanding of operational risk management principles, methodologies, tools, and governance principles, ideally within a financial services technology setting.
• Advanced knowledge of data management frameworks and transformation processes.
• Expertise in analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, and Python.
• Capability to engage with Auditors/Regulators and produce outputs suitable for direct presentation to them.
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a complex, matrixed environment, effectively maintaining productive relationships across various business functions, geographies, and lines of defense.
• Advanced skills in process, workflow, control validation, and/or risk assessment.
• Proficient in directing, training, and guiding peers, subordinates, and management.
• Skilled in conflict resolution with other groups to ensure adherence to appropriate accounting guidelines.
• Adaptability to new developments and changing circumstances.
• Capacity to convey a sense of urgency and drive issues/projects to completion.
• Ability to effectively engage with the market, executive management, and vendors.
• Competence in adapting to numerous demands and competing priorities.
