• Lead the standardization of infrastructure and operational excellence by designing and creating scalable automation frameworks in Python, facilitating consistent and repeatable deployments in both cloud and on-premises environments.
• Expedite infrastructure provisioning through the development and enhancement of Terraform code-generation platforms using Python and Jinja2, allowing teams to generate validated, environment-specific infrastructure code from reusable templates.
• Enhance system reliability and compliance by developing and managing Puppet modules, manifests, and Hiera configurations that effectively govern Linux and Windows environments at scale.
• Boost operational efficiency across Windows platforms by crafting robust PowerShell automation solutions for server management, Active Directory management, and hybrid cloud integrations.
• Streamline intricate infrastructure workflows by creating internal automation tools, command-line utilities, and APIs that empower engineering teams to self-service common operational tasks.
• Improve the speed and safety of infrastructure delivery by integrating automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines, enabling automated validation, testing, and deployment of infrastructure modifications.
• Elevate software quality and minimize deployment risks by implementing comprehensive testing strategies for infrastructure code, including unit testing, linting, and integration testing.
• Collaborate closely with cloud, platform, and application teams to pinpoint manual processes, eliminate operational toil, and promote automation-first solutions throughout the organization.
• Facilitate long-term scalability and maintainability by developing clear documentation, standards, and runbooks for automation frameworks and infrastructure templates.
• Foster a strong engineering culture by engaging in code reviews, sharing best practices, and continuously enhancing the quality, security, and maintainability of automation solutions.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Python development — focusing on structured, testable application code rather than simple scripting.
• Solid understanding of Python packaging, virtual environments, dependency management (using pip, Poetry), and code quality tools (such as pylint, black, mypy).
• Experience in creating CLI tools and automation frameworks utilizing Python (Click, Typer, or similar libraries).
• Practical experience with Jinja2 templating — developing reusable, parameterized templates for configuration and infrastructure code generation.
• Proficient in using pytest for unit and integration testing of automation code.
• Strong expertise in Terraform: including module design, state management, remote backends, workspaces, and dependency graphs.
• Proven capability in programmatically generating Terraform HCL using Python and Jinja2 — constructing template-driven pipelines that yield valid, linted, plan-ready infrastructure code.
• Hands-on experience with Puppet: including writing manifests and modules, creating Hiera data hierarchies, node classification, and working with r10k / Code Manager workflows.
• Proficient in PowerShell scripting for Windows Server administration, task automation, and hybrid cloud integrations (AWS Tools for PowerShell, Azure PowerShell).
• Health insurance
• 401(k) matching
• Flexible work hours
• Paid time off
• Remote work options
