This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +12 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, highly available systems on AWS.

• Take ownership of CI/CD pipelines and enhance deployment automation.

• Manage and advance infrastructure as code utilizing Terraform and Ansible.

• Explore new tools and technologies, create proofs of concept, and integrate validated practices within the team.

• Enhance system reliability by refining alerting mechanisms, creating runbooks, and increasing observability across our stack (Grafana, Loki, Mimir, Tempo).

• Engage in an on-call rotation; off-hours incidents are infrequent due to extensive automation and self-healing—occasional evening work is restricted to scheduled maintenance and system upgrades.

• Assist in the maintenance and management of systems for other teams.

• Elevate the DevOps knowledge of the engineering team by mentoring junior engineers and assisting non-infrastructure engineers in establishing best practices for deployments, observability, and reliability.

• Collaborate with engineering teams on decisions regarding infrastructure design.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and operating highly available, fault-tolerant systems in cloud environments.

• Practical experience with AWS services including EC2, ECR, CloudFront, Route 53, etc.

• Familiarity with containerization and workload orchestration (Docker, Nomad).

• Expertise in infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible).

• In-depth understanding of CI/CD practices, including automated testing and deployment automation.

• Strong Linux and shell/bash scripting capabilities.

• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and messaging systems (RabbitMQ).

• Background in regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI, FedRAMP).
