Design Lead

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and provide support to a team of over 2 designers.

• Set the standard for design quality, craftsmanship, and collaboration throughout the organization.

• Conduct regular design critiques and promote a culture of constructive feedback.

• Recruit and onboard additional design talent as the team expands.

• Design and implement a comprehensive, scalable design system.

• Establish and uphold design best practices.

• Create and maintain thorough design documentation.

• Act as the internal expert on Figma.

• Train and enhance the skills of designers in advanced Figma functionalities.

• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams.

• Serve as a strategic partner to product managers and engineering leads.

• Proactively assess and advocate for emerging AI-driven design tools and workflows.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to experiment with AI tooling.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in product design.

• At least 2 years in a design leadership or senior individual contributor role within a product-focused technology organization.

• In-depth expertise in Figma, including advanced features such as component architecture, variables/tokens, auto layout, and prototyping.

• Proven experience in building or significantly enhancing a design system from the ground up.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating both end-to-end product design work and systems-level thinking.

• Exceptional communication and facilitation skills.

• Proven track record of mentoring and developing designers at various experience levels.

• Solid understanding of front-end development principles.
