Database Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance MySQL schemas to facilitate scalable, multi-tenant architectures.

• Establish and uphold database design standards, encompassing indexing, partitioning, and performance enhancement.

• Refine intricate SQL queries and address systemic database performance challenges.

• Execute and automate database change management, schema deployments, and migrations.

• Oversee replication, failover, and disaster recovery procedures to guarantee high availability.

• Monitor performance, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure data integrity.

• Provide support for cross-platform environments, including MSSQL and Snowflake integrations.

• Collaborate with engineering and BI teams to ensure data structures meet reporting and analytics requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with relational databases.

• Extensive experience in MySQL design, performance tuning, and optimization.

• Experience in managing large-scale or multi-terabyte database environments.

• Proficient SQL skills, particularly in query performance and optimization.

• Knowledge of replication, high availability, and disaster recovery practices.

• Familiarity with automation and Git-based workflows.
