Database Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and enhance MySQL schemas to facilitate scalable, multi-tenant architectures.

• Establish and uphold database design standards, which include indexing, partitioning, and optimizing performance.

• Improve complex SQL queries and address systemic database performance challenges.

• Implement and automate processes for database change management, schema deployments, and migrations.

• Oversee replication, failover, and disaster recovery procedures to maintain high availability.

• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot production challenges, and safeguard data integrity.

• Provide support for cross-platform environments, including integrations with MSSQL and Snowflake.

• Work collaboratively with engineering and BI teams to ensure data structures meet reporting and analytics requirements.

• Operate within Jira workflows and utilize GitHub for version control and documentation purposes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

• At least 5 years of experience with relational databases.

• Extensive experience in MySQL design, performance tuning, and optimization.

• Experience in managing large-scale or multi-terabyte database environments.

• Proficient SQL skills with an emphasis on query performance and optimization.

• Familiarity with replication, high availability, and disaster recovery techniques.

• Experience with automation and Git-based workflows.
