Database Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and optimize SQL Server logic that facilitates investment performance calculations and reporting.

• Enhance query performance while addressing bottlenecks in large and intricate datasets.

• Convert investment data from custodians and market sources into structured, analytics-ready models.

• Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to guarantee outputs are precise, dependable, and aligned with client requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with SQL Server.

• Strong proficiency in crafting and optimizing complex SQL and T-SQL queries.

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and enhance performance at scale.

• Experience in developing database logic for analytics or reporting environments.

• Background in investment performance, performance reporting, or closely related financial systems within an investment management context.

• Practical knowledge of asset classes such as fixed income, equities, or multi-asset portfolios, and their representation in performance and portfolio data.

• Solid understanding of returns, benchmarks, and portfolio structures, with the capability to validate outputs in a real-world context.

• Familiarity with custodial, market, or portfolio accounting data and its contribution to performance reporting.

• Ability to identify discrepancies in results and investigate data or calculation issues.

• Experience with Python (Nice to have).

• Exposure to modern development tools, including AI-assisted tools (Nice to have).

• Experience collaborating with asset managers, fund administrators, or investment data vendors (Nice to have).

• Familiarity with concepts such as composites or attribution is advantageous (Nice to have).
