This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Construct and validate machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) models utilizing claims and electronic health record (EHR) data for care delivery applications, including risk stratification and identification of care gaps, under the mentorship of senior data scientists.
• Assist in the creation of tools and AI applications based on large language models (LLMs) to enhance care team workflows.
• Write and sustain Python code for data processing, model development, and ML pipelines, adhering to best practices in software engineering, such as version control, code review, and testing.
• Work collaboratively with engineering, product, and analytics teams to grasp requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
• Cultivate expertise in Healthcare: Exhibit a strong interest in healthcare data structures, quantitative methods, and the application of data science within the healthcare sector.
• A Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in Python: At least 3 years of practical experience with Python, including academic and project work, evidenced through a GitHub portfolio or similar.
• A solid grounding in statistical and machine learning techniques, encompassing classical ML and an understanding of contemporary AI and LLM applications.
• Strong SQL capabilities and comfort in managing large, complex real-world datasets.
• Familiarity with Git and experience collaborating on a team codebase.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with cross-functional stakeholders.
• 1-2 years of experience in the data science industry (preferred).
• Experience with healthcare data (claims or EHR) through academic courses, research, or professional exposure (preferred).
