This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Gather and assess statistics and information from various sources to uncover trends and provide maximum insights that can offer the client a competitive edge, while effectively communicating informed conclusions and recommendations to the organization's leadership.
• Develop strategies and pinpoint unique opportunities to discover and gather new data.
• Analyze and extract insights from data from multiple perspectives to interpret its significance.
• Convey data findings to clients to offer essential information that will enhance their strategies and address the business challenges posed by an evolving customer base and a shifting marketplace, leveraging strong business acumen.
• Collaborate with engineering and research & development teams to create, refine, and scale data management and analytics processes, systems, workflows, best practices, and other relevant aspects.
• Identify and propose new applications for existing data sources; design, modify, and construct new data processes.
• Implement new or enhance current software solutions aimed at accessing and managing data more efficiently.
• Conduct scalable data research both on and off the cloud.
• Construct large and complex data sets.
• Provide deliverables within a 24 to 72-hour timeframe to support initiatives such as Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief, Economic Crisis, IUU-F fishing, and more.
• **EXPERIENCE**
• - At least 5 years of experience in data science with an emphasis on geospatial data analysis.
• - Experience in conducting statistical modeling and experimental design, as well as testing and validating predictive models.
• - Proficiency with data visualization tools to produce interactive, mission-critical products for both internal and external stakeholders and clients.
• - Established experience in supporting military tactical operations.
• - Proven ability to perform effectively in high-pressure operational environments.
• - Experience with non-pixel, non-semantic sensor data (e.g., AIS, ADS-B, ADINT, etc.).
• **DESIRED SKILLS**
• - Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems such as QGIS or ArcPro.
• - Experience with Python geospatial data analysis tools like GeoPandas.
• - Knowledge and experience in intelligence, collection management, targeting, geospatial, and/or imagery analysis.
• - Specialized training from any intelligence collection and analysis institution or certification, including GEOINT Professional Certification and Activity-Based Intelligence Certification.
