This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, design, implement, and validate machine learning algorithms for Premier’s Clinical Decision Support Platform.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and healthcare professionals.
• Utilize statistics, programming, data modeling, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced mathematics to uncover patterns and opportunities.
• Assist in analyses alongside Senior/Principal Data Scientists and Product Directors/Senior Directors.
• Implement complex analytic protocols and gain expertise in new methodologies.
• Work with healthcare datasets, including electronic health records, administrative billing, post-adjudicated claims, purchase orders, and invoices.
• Design, develop, and assess predictive models and advanced algorithms.
• Perform exploratory data analysis on complex, high-dimensional datasets.
• Transform prototypes into products, services, and features in collaboration with developers and product engineers.
• Engage in data exploration and conceptual design for strategic initiatives.
• Generate and test hypotheses while analyzing product experiment outcomes.
• Evaluate business requirements and create production solutions.
• Develop features and stories for product backlogs.
• Provide data science insights, demonstrations, and presentations.
• Conduct research, mentorship, and training activities.
• Create project estimates and work plans.
• Establish and refine best practices, standards, operating procedures, and processes.
• Review deliverables from team members.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
• Experience applying machine learning to real-world challenges.
• Proven success in delivering results on complex cross-functional projects.
• Proficiency in SQL, R and/or Python, along with relevant scientific, data, and machine learning libraries.
• Familiarity with one or more cloud computing environments.
• Software development experience in an agile setting.
• Experience with workflow tools such as Luigi or Airflow.
• Background in healthcare research involving large patient datasets.
• Ability to manipulate and analyze large-scale datasets.
• Experience applying the data science lifecycle for insights and causal inference.
• Experience working within remote teams.
• Capacity to remain stationary for extended periods.
• Ability to adapt quickly, change priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in operating computer programs and software.
• Effective communication skills, both in-person and electronically.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a business environment.
• Capability to make independent decisions.
