This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• The Iceberg Bridge: Oversee the execution and monitoring of data pipelines that transition from the Data Engineering Iceberg warehouse into the Snowflake Business environment.
• Staging Layer Excellence: Design and develop a high-quality staging layer in Snowflake. Establish comprehensive data validation and cleaning processes at the entry point to guarantee downstream reliability.
• Snowflake Sovereignty: Administer Snowflake schemas, roles, and warehouse configurations. Implement a "Least Privilege" RBAC model in collaboration with the Data Governance Team to protect business data while facilitating rapid access.
• Pipeline Stability: Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance all downstream data pipelines. Your objective is to eradicate data failures in the refined layers and ensure 99.5% availability for core data assets.
• Performance Engineering: Conduct continuous audits and optimizations of Snowflake performance. Identify and address bottlenecks in data processing to maintain sub-second response times for AI interfaces and dashboards.
• dbt Partnership: Collaborate closely with Analytics Engineers to refine dbt transformation logic, ensuring the "Source of Truth" is based on the most efficient and reliable staging tables available.
• AI-First Foundation: Organize data schemas specifically for AI consumption, ensuring our AI Agent Analysts have access to clean, well-indexed, and logically partitioned data to empower Snowflake Cortex.
• External Data Integrations: Collaborate with the Manager of AI Data Enablement to automate data pipelines for external partners and payors.
• Snowflake Power User: You possess extensive experience in building and managing Snowflake environments, including advanced expertise in task management, clustering, and security models.
• The "Reliability" Mindset: You approach data pipelines as production software. You are dedicated to monitoring, alerting, and creating self-healing systems.
• SQL & dbt Expert: You write SQL at an expert level and have significant experience with dbt. You comprehend how to convert raw tables into clean, efficient, and governed models.
• Technical Translator: You can navigate the realm of raw ingestion and table formats (Iceberg) while understanding the critical business needs of analytics and AI.
• Execution-Focused: You have 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with a proven history of managing and stabilizing complex data environments.
• Education: B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
