Data Manager I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Act as the main liaison for Sponsors and internal teams regarding Data Solutions data management tasks.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to coordinate specifications, deliverables, and timelines.

• Lead and facilitate requirements-gathering sessions to comprehend data, reporting, integration, and business necessities.

• Represent the Data Solutions team during client meetings, audits, and design milestone discussions.

• Identify out-of-scope requests and escalate them to Project Management and Business Development for change order evaluation.

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and timely delivery.

• Develop, document, and maintain thorough specifications for custom reports, visualizations, and outbound data integrations.

• Define data mappings, transformation logic, and technical specifications.

• Work with Sponsors and internal teams to establish delivery methods, frequency, formats, and receiving systems (e.g., EDC platforms).

• Ensure consistency between data capture and data delivery outputs.

• Prepare configuration documentation for downstream programming and validation teams.

• Manage multiple data sources for transformation, processing, and documentation across assigned projects.

• Assist in the setup, configuration, and quality control of data platforms, including data warehouses and data lakes.

• Monitor outbound integrations, troubleshoot delivery failures, and collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues.

• Work with validation teams to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and integrity.

• Design custom reports, dashboards, and data visualizations in alignment with Sponsor requirements.

• Suggest suitable visualization methods based on data and business criteria.

• Collaborate with Data Delivery Engineers, Software Quality Engineers, Technical Implementation Managers, Project Managers, and Business Development teams to ensure precise implementation.

• Contribute to process enhancement initiatives and the development of SOPs or work instructions.

• Maintain comprehensive data management documentation and ensure proper storage in accordance with company policy.

• Oversee Jira ticket closure and update project dashboards to ensure workflow accuracy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field is preferred.

• At least 2 years of experience in Data Management or a similar role.

• Strong capability to gather requirements and convert them into clear technical specifications.

• Proficiency in data mapping and an understanding of data structures.

• Experience in designing data visualizations and dashboards.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Effective communication skills in English with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to delivery timelines.

• Experience with clinical trial systems or EDC platforms is preferred.

• Basic SQL proficiency is preferred.

• Previous involvement in audits, SOP development, or process improvement initiatives is a plus.
