This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish, document, and uphold data quality standards, business definitions, and validation protocols for essential reporting and analytics data resources.
• Utilize SQL, dbt, and Snowflake to analyze data, troubleshoot quality concerns, validate transformations, and ensure data is prepared for business applications.
• Collaborate with BI teams to guarantee that dashboards, reports, metrics, and curated datasets are backed by reliable and comprehensively understood data.
• Oversee routine data quality assessments, detect anomalies, document root causes, and coordinate corrective actions with data owners and technical teams.
• Manage metadata, data lineage, business glossaries, and data issue logs to enhance transparency and usability of data resources.
• Advocate for data governance and stewardship best practices by training stakeholders on data standards, ownership, and appropriate use of certified data.
• Over 5 years of experience in data stewardship, data governance, data quality, business intelligence, analytics, or data management.
• Proficient in SQL with experience in data profiling, validating business rules, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring reporting accuracy.
• Practical experience with dbt, encompassing data tests, documentation, lineage, model review, and transformation validation.
• Familiarity with Snowflake or comparable cloud data warehouse platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, data lineage, data quality dimensions, and concepts related to the data lifecycle.
• Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, reconciliation, profiling, exception detection, and validation of reporting data.
• Understanding of Snowflake objects, data structures, query performance considerations, and access patterns.
• Experience employing dbt tests, source freshness checks, documentation, exposures, and lineage to facilitate reliable data delivery.
• Capability to transform business rules into data quality checks, validation queries, and repeatable monitoring processes.
• Acquainted with BI reporting datasets, semantic layers, KPIs, dimensional models, and curated analytics tables.
• Background in documenting data definitions, transformation logic, ownership, lineage, and known data limitations.
• Strong analytical problem-solving abilities with the capacity to investigate data issues across source, transformation, and reporting layers.
