This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the design and creation of an enterprise Contract Performance Analytics platform for a major healthcare organization.
• Concentrate on data architecture, the development of ELT/ETL pipelines, and the integration of clinical, claims, and operational data into a scalable analytics framework.
• Construct a cohesive data system that facilitates insights across value-based care contracts (MSSP, Medicare Advantage, Commercial, and Employer Health Plans).
• Integrate cloud-based EHR data processing with an enterprise data warehouse to enhance analytics and reporting capabilities.
• Design, develop, and sustain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load healthcare data from a variety of structured and unstructured sources.
• Create pipelines to process data from CMS and payer files (CCLF, paid claims, PUG), as well as Epic (Caboodle, Clarity) data models and extracts.
• Develop and refine data models to support analytics, reporting, and operational use cases, including BI and downstream analytics consumption.
• Convert raw data into standardized, analytics-ready canonical data models and curated data marts.
• Establish lakehouse/medallion architecture, data ingestion patterns, and orchestration frameworks.
• Implement and oversee CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows, including pipelines and scheduled jobs, utilizing version control and automation tools.
• Collaborate with database administrators, analysts, and application teams to integrate data sources, design schemas, and support downstream data consumers.
• Ensure the quality, integrity, and accuracy of data through validation, monitoring, logging, and alerting processes.
• Support data migration, integration, and modernization initiatives, including upgrades of legacy systems, optimization of large-scale ETL pipelines, query performance, and cloud adoption efforts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both development and production environments to maintain stable and reliable data pipelines.
• Document data flows, pipelines, test cases, and technical solutions to facilitate knowledge sharing and meet compliance requirements.
• Stay updated with emerging tools, technologies, and best practices in data engineering and cloud platforms.
• US Citizenship or a Green Card is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines.
• A minimum of FIVE (5) years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, or data platform engineering within a healthcare context.
• Experience with healthcare data, including claims, clinical, payer, or population health datasets.
• Familiarity with healthcare data interoperability standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7).
• Proficient in Python and SQL for data engineering and transformation tasks.
• Practical experience in designing and constructing ETL/ELT pipelines and data ingestion frameworks.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms or ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Databricks, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue).
• Knowledge of lakehouse or medallion-style architectures for analytics platforms.
• Strong understanding of relational database design, data warehouses, and/or data lakes (e.g., star/snowflake schemas).
• Experience with relational and/or distributed data systems, including data modeling.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS or Azure) supporting data solutions.
• Experience with CI/CD practices and version control tools (e.g., Git).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools to enhance data pipeline reliability.
• Experience handling PHI and adhering to healthcare data privacy/security regulations.
• Ability to thrive in an Agile development environment.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to clients, engineers, and business stakeholders.
